Juan's Statement

Dear Fellow Democrat,

My name is Juan Rodriguez, and I am honored to seek re-election as your delegate to the California Democratic Party (CADEM) in Assembly District 23. Representing your needs and priorities over the past two years has been an incredible privilege, and I am proud of the progress I have made alongside my slate, the North Star Progressive Democrats, who I hope will also earn your support.

When I was first elected, I committed to amplifying your voice within the state party and ensuring it reflects our shared values: accountability to democratic principles, international peace, union advocacy, access to healthcare, housing, economic stability, climate action, and justice.

During my term, I served on the CADEM Resolutions Committee, where I reviewed and supported resolutions that affirm our party’s values. Some of the resolutions I proudly supported include those advocating for tenant rights, strengthening labor unions, advancing climate action, supporting small businesses, and promoting international peace. I also voted in favor of CADEM endorsing Proposition 1 to protect abortion rights in California, Proposition 32 to raise the minimum wage, and Proposition 5 to create more affordable housing, among other initiatives that reflect our shared progressive values.

Building a collaborative and action-driven community with my slate mates has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. We always sought to understand different perspectives by engaging in open conversations and thoughtful deliberations. For example, when endorsing candidates for the U.S. Senate or the CA 16th Congressional District, we actively sought input from campaigns and candidates to make informed decisions that best reflect your priorities.

I am running for re-election because I believe our party must grow stronger, more united, and focused on addressing the struggles of everyday Americans. Together, we can advance progressive policies that combat corporate greed and create a more equitable future.
