Meghan's Statement
I’m Meghan Fraley, running for re-election as a California Democratic Party Assembly District Delegate with the North Star Democrats slate. Our party is at a crossroads. Too many people feel unheard and unrepresented, while families struggle and marginalized communities fight for survival. We must reconnect with voters, listen to their challenges, and deliver bold solutions that improve lives. People are yearning for meaningful change, and by taking decisive action, we can rebuild trust, inspire hope, and win elections.
As a psychologist, I see firsthand the profound pain young people and their families endure navigating inequities that erode mental health and hope. Addressing housing affordability, promoting economic fairness, and ensuring access to mental health care for all must be priorities for the Democratic Party. The party must reflect the voices and needs of all people, not just the most privileged, and take action that delivers real results.
I have a proven record of delivering meaningful change. I spearheaded the South Bay Peninsula Raise the Wage coalition, securing one of the highest minimum wages in the country. I co-founded the Mountain View Coalition for Police Reform and Accountability, advancing equity and transparency in public safety. I also led the campaign for a progressive business tax in Mountain View, which now generates $10 million annually for housing and critical public resources. These victories prove that bold, collaborative action delivers real progress.
To lead boldly, we must engage voters year-round, communicate our successes effectively, and build stronger relationships with the people we represent. I also serve on the board of the Peninsula Democratic Club, where I value bringing together Democrats of all perspectives to advance shared goals. Our strength lies in embracing diverse voices and working collectively to create a brighter future. In my previous campaigns, I was honored to have earned support from leaders and organizations such as Sally Lieber, DAWN, Peninsula Young Democrats, South Bay Labor Council, South Bay YIMBY, and YIMBY Action, reflecting a shared vision for progress.
It would be an honor to earn your vote in the upcoming ADEM election. Together, we can build a Democratic Party that reflects justice, equity, and real progress. Please reach out at meghan@northstar.vote—I’d love to hear your ideas for meaningful change. Let’s create the future our communities deserve.
